Service Site Opportunity

Easter Seals Central Texas  is continuing year #3 of an AmeriCorps initiative, called ASSET*AmeriCorps to support people with disabilities.  We are looking for partner agencies that serve individuals with disabilities in at least one of the following areas: 

  • Affordable Housing
  • Assistive Technology
  • Financial Literacy

Our next ASSET*AmeriCorps team will begin on October 1, 2010.  Contact us to learn more about how to have AmeriCorps members serve at your organization! 

Member Placement Organizations receive:

  • Passionate, motivated individuals looking to make a difference in their community
  • An chance to develop or expand support to people with disabilities
  • Individuals supported in the areas of: financial literacy, affordable housing, assistive technology
  • Meaningful service opportunities for people with disabilities to serve their community in a supportive, professional role

ASSET*AmeriCorps members receive:

  • Modest Living Allowance
  • Education Award
  • Health Insurance
  • Child Care (for eligible members)
  • Student Loan Forbearance on qualified student loans
  • Training, Networking, and other Professional Development opportunities

Member Placement Organizations provide:

  • $2,500 for each AmeriCorps Member that serves in a full-time capacity between October 1st  and August 31, 2011
  • Day-to-Day Supervision of AmeriCorps members
  • Onsite Orientation and Organization-specific training for members
  • Access to office equipment and transportation to support member activities
  • Data Collection and Reports on member activities
